Salal:
hero of the forest floor

With its deep, wide root system, the hardy Salal is often the first plant to return after a forest fire—usually under its old friend, the Douglas Fir. This glossy-leafed evergreen brings visual weight and classic appeal to any arrangement, any time of year. We think of Salal as an old friend, too—and it’s one of our longest-selling greens.

High Mountain Blue Noble®

We grow our High Mountain Blue Noble® in its natural environment, at the ideal elevation of 3,000 to 5,000 feet. Each Fir is exclusively harvested on our own nutrient-rich volcanic soil that surrounds Mount St. Helens, where it thrives in “nature’s cooler” with cold mornings and evenings. You’ll see the difference in its deep blue color, denser needle span, and unmatched strength, longevity, and needle retention.
