In the world of evergreens, some trees are more than décor—they’re a legacy. In their feature Wild Harvest: The Mountain Evergreens, Thursd. shared how Continental Floral Greens nurtures the exclusive High Mountain Blue Noble, grown in volcanic soil and cool mountain air. With rotational harvesting, replanting, and a deep respect for the land, every bough cut and seed planted continues a cycle that has shaped forests and Christmas traditions for generations.
In part one of CFG's Wild Harvest story, Thursd. highlighted the sustainable harvest of forest-floor greens in the Pacific Northwest. Part two continues the journey—this time to the higher, colder mountain forests where evergreens thrive and become the foundation of Christmas traditions.
The article continues explaining the roots of Continental Floral Greens, beginning at our Mount St. Helens tree farm. Purchased in 2009, this land became CFG's foundation, rising from the devastation of the 1980 eruption to a reforested landscape of thriving evergreens, now central to CFG’s growth and story.

At elevations of 3,000–5,000 feet, Continental Floral Greens grows the exclusive High Mountain Blue Noble. These fir trees are known for their silver-blue tone, long-lasting freshness, and unmatched quality. As Thursd. notes, these rare evergreens form the foundation of wreaths, garlands, and centerpieces shipped nationwide each holiday season.

Continental Floral Greens applies the same regenerative principles in the mountains as on the forest floor. Instead of cutting trees, we top and trim boughs to encourage regrowth, replant hundreds of thousands of seedlings, and partner with local landowners to manage forests with low-impact, rotational practices—ensuring the health of noble, cedar, and Douglas fir for generations to come.

Each winter, our mountain harvest becomes iconic holiday décor through noble fir, cedar, pine, and more, bringing the fragrance of the Pacific Northwest into homes nationwide. Beyond beauty, our work reflects patience, respect, and regeneration: what began as one tree farm is now a nationwide operation, with Mount St. Helens still guiding our commitment to harvest carefully, restore, and leave every acre better than we found it.
