More Than Greens: Butterfly Ranunculus - CFG Featured on Thursd.

At Continental Floral Greens, we’re known for premium foliage - but we’re growing beyond greens. One of the crops leading this next chapter is Butterfly Ranunculus, grown in our Watsonville, California greenhouses.

Butterfly ranunculus stands apart with multiple blooms per stem and lush, full foliage, creating an abundant, premium look ideal for bouquet programs and spring features. While the blooms appear soft and airy, they’re more durable than they look, thanks to a naturally waxy petal finish that helps protect them through handling and transport.

Another standout feature is how butterfly ranunculus continues to perform after harvest. Bunches often arrive with a mix of buds and open blooms and will continue to open as they hydrate. Even when a bloom is removed, new flowers can continue to emerge, making this a rewarding crop for wholesale programs.

Our butterfly ranunculus season typically runs from January through Mother’s Day, with color availability varying throughout the season. Advance planning is recommended for key moments like Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Mother’s Day.
