Continental Floral Greens is celebrating the season with a showcase of our most iconic holiday products - garlands, wreaths, and evergreen staples grown on our farms. Inspired by a hands-on workshop with designers Kelly Shore and Jennifer Reed, this article highlights sustainable techniques, creative applications, and the beauty of working with fresh holiday greens.
Garlands are one of the most versatile elements in holiday design—beautiful on their own and easy to customize. Garlands can enhance tablescapes, mantles, entryways, and archways, offering both dependable structure and creative flexibility. Favorite varieties include Classic Cedar, Magnolia, and Boxwood, and CFG also produces custom garlands year-round, from evergreen holiday styles to eucalyptus garlands for weddings and events.

Evergreens create exceptionally sturdy bases for winter arrangements, especially when paired with sustainable mechanics. Favorite holiday evergreens include High Mountain Blue Noble Fir for its silver-blue tone, Incense Cedar for its graceful drape, and Juniper for its fragrance and winter berries. These staples provide both structure and the classic scent of the season.

CFG wreaths are handcrafted by skilled crews, with the Noble Fir Wreath serving as the classic, full-bodied signature base. They can be easily customized with ribbons, bells, berries, sparkle accents, added greenery, or fresh florals. Beyond doors, wreaths work beautifully on tabletops, around hurricane candles, or as the foundation for a holiday centerpiece. Even small candle rings can be elevated with simple seasonal touches for an elegant tablescape.

To keep holiday greens looking fresh, store them in a cooler when possible, gently reshape them after unpacking, and keep them away from heat and direct sunlight. For stem-based evergreens, give a fresh cut before placing in water and refresh both the cut and water every few days. Lightly mist wreaths, garlands, and arrangements to maintain moisture. These simple steps help extend the life and beauty of your holiday greens.
